LAUNCH OF THE FRENCH-ENGLISH-MANDARIN TRILINGUAL STREAM
For the last 10 years, LPE has been teaching the official French curriculum in a fully bilingual setting, in French and English. Since 2018, the school has integrated into its offer an introduction to Mandarin for all students from the age of 3, an initiative very well received by parents.
Always striving to be at the forefront of innovation in terms of educational offer, La Petite Ecole is opening a fully trilingual stream in French, English, and Mandarin, from January 2023.

IMMERSIVE MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION FOR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS
Three native-speaking teachers work together to ensure the continuous and seamless progression of learning in the official French curriculum, in French, English and Mandarin languages. A teaching assistant is present in class with the students throughout the week. During ‘cycle 1’, the kindergarten cycle in the French education system, the pupils of N2 (PS), K1 (MS), then K2 (GS) will gradually build their plurilingual skills in 3 of the most spoken languages throughout the world. STARTING FROM THE YOUNGEST AGE
Learning three languages from such an early age may seem daunting to parents who have grown up in a monolingual environment. However, studies have indicated that children who grow up in a supportive environment speaking more than one language are more perceptive, and multilingualism practices enhance both intellectual flexibility and creativity.
Moreover, it has been proven time and again that the child’s brain is most receptive to the construction of the multilingual skill – la compétence plurilingue – before the age of 7. The preschool cycle therefore constitutes the ideal time frame to introduce more than one language to your developing child.
