BIOGRAPHY

My name is Sophia, I was born in Nanjing, China, a city with a 2,500 year history and the representative city of Chinese classical culture since ancient times. My love of literature and language led me to study in the UK to experience the fascination of different cultures and words. I worked as a strategy manager in a technology park for five years, where I developed strong observation, adaptability and summarising skills. During my time as a volunteer at the first international school, I learned about the Reggio education system, observing and documenting each student and motivating them to take the initiative in identifying, exploring and solving problems.

I also worked as an amateur Chinese teacher for local children aged 5-10 while I was studying in the UK. This helped me find differences and similarities between English and Chinese, giving me a good foundation for working at LPE. I also use my spare time to learn about guidance methods for children with autism and ADHD from the National Autistic Society UK.

The two years I have worked at the LEP have also made me determined to continue in the education industry. I love to explore and work with children. I also enjoy working with parents to find the best way for their children to grow. I hope that through my teaching I can inspire students to understand and experience the beauty of language and to develop their critical thinking skills.
